Bakersfield & Ventura 2-6-0 "Mogul" Locomotives in the USA

Class Details by Steve Llanso of Sweat House Media

Class 1 (Locobase 12913)

Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University, Volume 28, p. 218. Works number was 27285 in January 1906.

Even as the #1 was rolling off Baldwin's production line, the B & V Railway headed into receivership. Sold in December 1906, it reappeared as the Bakersfield & Vantura Railroad in 1908 and was reorganized in 1911 as the Ventura County Railway.

In service through at least 1939, the engine was scrapped in June 1948.
