Data from Baldwin Locomotive Works Specification for Engines as digitized by the DeGolyer Library of Southern Methodist University Vol 15, p. 201 Works numbers were 10869-10870 in May 1890 and 11113 in August.
An urgent need for a railroad to serve local needs in the Uplands of South Carolina led to the incorporation of this line in 1885. It began construction in 1890 and by July 1891 had reached Dover Junction. Acquisition of the small Laurens Railroad completed the 75 mile route in 1896. Towns like Little Mountain (now on the National Register of Historic Places) and Irmo (a name formed by combining the first two letters of CJ Iredell and HC Moseley) quickly grew along the route. NB: Heating surface data is an estimate based on Locobase 9353, a Georgia Carolina & Northern order that had identical tube counts, diameters, and lengths (within 3/16") as well as identical firebox dimensions.
